This program is for teachers of language: Hebrew as a first and second language (in ulpans or regular schools), English as a foreign language, Arabic as a first and second language and for teachers of literature. In particular, the curriculum provides a response to the needs of such fields as attitude recognition, approaches, innovative theories and practices, essential to language education coordinators, planners, special education teachers specializing in linguistic aspects, didactic measures, speech therapists within the education system (holding a conformance certificate) and librarians holding a teaching certificate.
The Instruction and Learning program is intended for teachers experienced in teaching a variety of school subjects who wish to become leading teachers in the educational system. Promotion of teachers is made by professional upgrading along with the development of insights and abilities in leadership and change. This combination prepares teachers for leadership positions, concentrating on teaching in their schools and within the educational system.
The Music Education program enables music education teachers to continue to develop professionally and to become change agents within the field. The program offers a challenging academic framework on both the practical and theoretical planes, as well as enabling students to cultivate their skills as performers, conductors and composers. Students examine multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural perceptions of education, music and music education that aid in the development of a conception that will enable them to apply new-found knowledge in their work.
The Early Childhood Education program is directed at teachers and pre-school teachers wishing to become managers of daycare centers, preschools, early childhood education departments in local and municipal governments, as well as in the Ministry of Education, and in training of early childhood education teachers in colleges of education. The program engages its students in all aspects of early childhood development, and organizational and administrative training.
The Special Education program address theoretical, conceptual and practical developments that have occurred in recent years in special education and regular education. Over the last decades there has been a material change in the perception of special education due to a growing demand for equal rights for children with disabilities aimed at creating an integrative educational environment. The idea of integration requires educational leaders, special education teachers and teachers in the conventional stream to deal with the many issues associated with implementing integration.
The M.Teach (Master of Teaching) program is designed for university graduates imbued with the desire and motivation to lead in-depth processes in the education field. The program aids in the development of competence, knowledge and understanding in the areas of teaching specialization (mathematics, English, language, Bible, Judaism, literature and music), as well as developing theory- and research-based understanding in teaching and learning, using innovative learning environments. Alongside academic and theoretical knowledge, the program strives to extend students' practical knowledge and allows supervised experience in teaching in post-primary schools. The program grants successful candidates a Master of Teaching degree and a teaching certificate.
Music therapy is a paramedical profession that uses music to meet physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs for patients of all ages. Music therapy improves the quality of life of healthy people and meets the special needs of children and adults with disabilities or illness.
